Kenzan

Today I'd like to write about one of ikebana materials "Kenzan". Kenzan means a pin holder. We use Kenzan to make an ikebana arrangement with a shallow vase. Kenzan is heavy and spiky which allows flowers and branches to be stable and stand up a natural way. Kenzan shouldn't be so visible so we hide it with leaves or rabbles. When you dismantle ikebana, please clean Kenzan with a brush and place it upside down until its dry to avoid rust. We can use Kenzan many times so it's sustainable and eco friendly as well.
